Little Houses

I was on the phone with a friend today, and I was complaining how small my house is. She told me to stop complaining and look up this song called "Little Houses" by Doug Stone A little white house, in the heart of town, On a little sad street, just a little run down, Became a home, for Bill and Sue, Two newlyweds, who did the best that they could do. And when they brush each other, passin' in the hall, Sue would smile and say: "This place is pretty small. But you know, love grows best in little houses, With fewer walls to separate, Where you eat and sleep so close together. You can't help but communicate, Oh, and if we had more room between us, think of all we'd miss. Love grows best, in houses just like this. Before too long, Sue and Bill, Were makin' plans, for Jack and Jill. Oh, happy day, when the news came in But what to do, when they found out Sue was having twins. When they could not pass each other in the hall, Well, Sue would smile and say: "This place is really, really small. That little white frame house still keeps them warm, Though it's been thirty-two years, since the kids were born, And when they look back now, they hold each other tight, And whisper in each other's ears: "You know you were right. Because love grows best in little houses, With fewer walls to separate, Where you eat and sleep so close together. You can't help but communicate, Oh, and if we had more room between us, think of all we'd miss. Love grows best, in houses just like this. Yeah, love grows best, in houses just like this. I thought it was pretty cute. We gutted out the girls' room yesterday and realized that I have 4 girls in one room. (at least Brytlin's stuff is in there) That is nothing like the old house on "C" street where Mom and Dad had 5 girls in one room! We are doing just fine here! Very Thankful!

Summer Fun

Hey there family~ It's been a long while so I thought I would write a little post about our summer fun. We kicked off our summer with a 2 week vacation with James. We first went to Otter Crest-on the Oregon Coast- and enjoyed 3 nights of card games, junk food, and movies. The beach was beautiful! Then we came back and celebrated James' birthday on a Willamette River Jet Boat cruise. It was rainy but exciting. On his birthday and Father's Day, we drove to the Sullivan Hotel where we enjoyed 3 nights in a luxurious condo. We took Mom and Dad out to lunch, played on the slip and slide, and ran 6 miles with Sara. The weather was perfect and as always, being at home was relaxing. James is back to work now and this weekend we go back to the Sullivan Hotel for the 4th of July to run the Butte to Butte with Ann and Sara. Then we have the Sullivan Reunion in Boise. The kids are excited but James is staying home. Football and volleyball start in August along with Hood to Coast and the annual K-9 campout. It's a busy summer but we love not having school. The kids sleep in late and go to bed late. James and I got bikes a few months ago and a bike trailor too. We love family bike rides around town. Today I have my 2 nieces, so with 8 kids, we are off to see the free movie. Wish us luck! We miss all of you and look forward to seeing you all this summer! Cheers, Rebecca

TOTALLY RADICAL!

My kids just did the funniest thing! They just downloaded the all so famous 80's hit "Eye of the Tiger"!!! Can you believe it? They love the song and are pumped about getting it! It just brings back memories of the record player in Dad's room and Sara's high bangs. This song represents many good memories in the 80's. CHEERS!

Sonic...oh my...

Yep, Clint and I had our first visit to SONIC!  It has been the talk of the town for quite some time now.  Especially when family comes into town.  It is now more exciting than the m&m jar.  It was REALLY GOOD!    I had a Lemon-Berry slush and Clint had a Reeses PB Sonic Blast!  I will admit that is was kinda romantic sitting there in the car eating our treats while listening to the radio.  Now we just need to get mom & dad to partake in the drive-in adventure.

Gabe, Hair Gel, and Dad's Beauty Salon

I very occasionally use some hair gel (Herbal Essences stuff, the green bottle - it smells YUMMY!) when my hair is long enough for it. I did so today, and Gabe decided that he wanted some, too. So we played Dad's Beauty Salon (I just can't think of a more masculine way to describe it, so there it is).
